This time, we’d like to talk openly about mental health and help to spread awareness. Mental health is vital all year round, no matter what month. Here, we will introduce 3 of our specially selected artists and their charity organizations. Please keep your eyes and ears open for donations to make. For this campaign, monopo will introduce 5 selected artists and 5 charity organizations for people to donate to.

Ai's choice is Children of Promise NYC (CPNYC). It is the only agency in NYC that seamlessly provides access to therapeutic empowerment services and youth development all under one roof. By providing after school program, therapeutic support, 1on1 mentoring and encouragement on family communication, CPNYC helps children to thrive and achieve their human potential.

Mental Health

Karyn is Japanese American, so the cause she chose is one that’s close to home. Her charity of choice, NYCAAMH, is an organization that addresses the unmet mental health care needs and service disparities of the Asian American population through advocacy, community service, professional development and collaboration with government and local service providers.

Lindsay is a Tokyo-based artist from Hawaii, and for this project she has chosen Colabo, the foundation that supports teenage girls from middle to high school age through counseling, food, in-shelter services, managing shared residences. Colabo supports teenage girls from middle to high school age through counseling, food, in-shelter services, managing shared residences, as well as workshops and education activities held by the teenage girls themselves.

Koichiro is a Tokyo-based photographer. On this KADO Project, his other-worldly film work is dedicated to “Bring Change to Mind”, the nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging dialogue about mental health, and to raise awareness, understanding, and empathy. “A mental illness is not caused by personal weakness —nor can it be cured by positive thinking or willpower—proper treatment is needed” Bring Change to mind creates multimedia campaigns, curate storytelling movements, and develop youth programs to encourage a diverse cultural conversation around mental health.

Millions of children – as many as 1 in 5 – struggle with mental health or learning.Daisuke is a Japan born and raised artist, living and working in Tokyo currently. Child Mind Institute was decided as choice of charity—where they are dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders by giving them the help they need through care, resources, and trainings.

Takuya Kawaguchi is a Japanese illustrator based in Japan, exploring black-and-white paintings. His choice of charity, The Center, is the heart and home of NYC’s LGBTQ community that is committed to the people’s health, wellness, and community connection. The Center provides a range of programs, services and counseling options to help our LGBT communities protect and preserve their health. They hosts more than 15,000 events and activities every year, including those for counseling and mental health for the LGBT community.
